Platelet Rich Plasma / Platelet Conditioned Plasma
About PRP

Platelets are naturally circulating cells with no nucleii. We have always known that platelts are essential for blood clotting however more recently we have discovered that platelets release growth factors responsible for tissue healing.

We can obtain platelets by taking a small sample of your blood and spinning it down in a cantrifuge. This seperates out the platets which we can then reinject into the injured area.

PRP is an emerging treatment in non surgical orthopaedics and sports medicine. The philosophy is to merge cutting edge technology with the body's natural ability to heal itself.

Dr Brown audits all of his injection procedures and keeps up to date with any national or international developments in this field. To see more information on PRP please visit one of Dr Browns colleagues site Dr Alan Mishra in the USA
