Exclusion
Inflammatory joint pain e.g. of an active rheumatological cause, active infection, cancer pain, pain not of a musculoskeletal origin.
Required Investigations
For Chronic back pain X-rays of the lumbar spine FBC ESR or CRP
MRI is required for patients with Sciatica. MRI may be required if diagnostic uncertainty in low back pain.
